This worked for me as well.
Anyone have any idea of how to change the order in which the hosts are 
displayed in the top summary page?

I also had to modify functions.php to match the changes I made in conf.php, eg 
labels 0-10 instead of 0-25 . 
Then it worked fined.

In the conf.php file, there is a section that looks like this:

# Colors for the load ranks.
#
$load_colors = array(
  "100+" => "ff634f",
  "75-100" =>"ffa15e",
  "50-75" => "ffde5e",
  "25-50" => "caff98", 
  #"0-25" => "efefef",
  "0-25" => "e2ecff",
  "down" => "515151"
);

Try changing those values.  I think that will do the trick.
