As far as I recall, the web frontend's code creates a list available metrics from the first node in the list. If this node doesn't have any gmetrics, then only the builtin metrics will appear in the menu. Once you choose one of the metrics, the nodes are sorted based on it (in your case, the first node will now be the one with the highest count on "bytes_out"). I suspect that this node doesn't have any gmetrics. Can you confirm/dispute this?
