I got gmond v 3.0.3 from source. gmetad did not install even with the '

./configure --with-gmetad'

command. So I used the ubuntu package (gmetad). Which turns out to be 2.5.7
If I use both 2.5.7 versions I get

# /usr/sbin/gmond
gmond config file error: Unknown Config-Option: '/*'

I'd imagine so. Being a whole major version number off, something
significant probably changed between versions.

How did you manage to get different version of the daemons? They come
in the same package.
