Regards,
I previously sent a request for help regarding compilation of Ganglia
using the native compiler. I finally managed to do this (gmond) on AIX
5.2 and 5.3. A fairly new compiler seems to work OK if it has the
-qlanglvl=extc99 switch (vac v6 on 5.2 and v8 on AIX 5.3 both works).
When compiling I did the following:
1. Compiled and installed GNU flex (I used v2.5.4)
2. Last CVS version of lexer.l from
http://cvs.savannah.gnu.org/viewcvs/confuse/confuse/src (I used v.
1.11). This lexer.l replaced lexer.l in ganglia-3.0.3/srclib/confuse/src
3. Compiled Ganglia gmond using the instructions on the Ganglia website:
env CFLAGS="-O -qlanglvl=extc99" ./configure --prefix=/my/location
--disable-shared --enable-static
make
I have had the testbinaries running for some time now and they both seem
to work flawlessly.
