vik, strings are not stored on disk at all, they live in the gmetad process image (and the gmond process images). You can only get at the most recently transmitted value of the string too - there is no history.

Hi All, We have implemented a metric which sends string values. So we observed that ganglia is printing these string values in ganglia metric web page. But like RRDs., does ganglia stored string values also somewhere? regards, vik ------------------------------------------------------------------------- This SF.net email is sponsored by: Splunk Inc.
