Hello all,
I try to found a way to manage rrd database snapshot.
May be, I have miss something, but today I have not found any user friendly
solution.
My only input is a tar ball of a rrd Ganglia database ( the snapshot ) coming
from a cluster located at the Antipodes( no direct connection to this cluster
is possible )
The goal would be to be able to use the Ganglia Front-end to look at the
content of this database in a user friendly way.
In LAB, I have the same cluster configuration that the one where the tar ball
comes from.

Then, the first idea was to replace the rrd database of the LAB cluster by the
tar ball.
The solution work, but no longer, because gmetad continue to write in the
database and the snapshot is no more longer a snapshot....
Then the second idea was to use an other front-end, in the mailing list someone
speak about "ddraw" ( http://web.taranis.org/drraw/) , I try it, it is a
powerful front-end, but not user friendly, that mean, the user must be aware of
what is a rrd database...

In fact, what I need is a way to run gmetad in a read only mode on a freeze
database, but remaining available to reply on port 8651/8652 saying that all
the node in the rrd database are ready even if no corresponding gmond to these
nodes are connected to gmetad. AFAIK, like that, the Ganglia Front-end would be
spoof and believe that it work with a cluster fully operational.

May be, there is already something available to do that with gmetad ?
Or May be there is an other solution ?

Best Regards.
Christian.
