The RPM for gmond is called 'ganglia-gmond' and it is definitely in the
repository.  At least it is available here:

ftp://mirror.colorado.edu/pub/fedora/linux/updates/8/ppc64

BTW, can you please paste the build log into pastebin so that we can resolve
any build issues on ppc64?
