Definately. I've rolled a custom package for internal distribution in which I add two directories: * config/: Various gmond.conf's to speed up deployment (I'm 100% unicast.) * var/svc/: Where I include my SMF manifests. I put all that in a tar and put it on a private web server so deployments consist of wget, tar, cp, svccfg import, and I'm done. Super simply on 50+ node rollouts. >> build with anyone interested, although building Ganglia on Solaris is a >> dream. > > ganglia 3.1 will be a little more problematic to get running, and the help > from some packager (indiana, anyone?), but I don't remember ever having > problems with 3.0, care to elaborate on that? I'm building Ganglia on Solaris Express: Community Release snv_68 and the build process was a braindead standard one: ./configure --prefix .. && gmake && gmake install. I wish all software built so easily cross platform. I'm certainly willing to help with packaging Ganglia for Solaris any time. benr. ------------------------------------------------------------------------- This SF.net email is sponsored by: Microsoft Defy all challenges.
