I have a Ganglia header node (lons9999.uk.domain) based in London,
receiving data from grids in other international locations (and domains).
I have some lines in its gmetad.conf like this
data_source "London Grid" lons1234
data_source "Paris Grid" pars1234.fr.domain
…
This all works well when starting up a web front end on a London
workstation via http://lons9999.uk.domain/ganglia.
However, when I start up a web front end in Boston (on bost1234.us.domain)
via http://lons9999.uk.domain/ganglia, links through to the Paris grid
work, but not those to the London grid. This seemed logical enough, and I
changed the gmetad.conf on lons9999.uk.domain to look like this
data_source "London Grid" lons1234.uk.domain
data_source "Paris Grid" pars1234.fr.domain
…
and restarted, gmetad and httpd.
Unfortunately this had absolutely no effect. When I hover over the grid
snapshots for “London Grid” I still get lons1234, whereas “Paris Grid”
shows pars1234.fr.domain.
The Ganglia servers are running Linux with Apache, and my web browsers are
IE running on XP workstations. Ganglia version is 3.0.5.
Is this a limitation on my Ganglia or Webserver knowledge?
Any help would be very much appreciated.
Nigel
