This feature request has not been 'owned' by anybody and AFAIK has not gotten much discussion time yet and thus will not be available in the upcoming 3.1.x release. I welcome you to start a discussion on this over at ganglia-developers though. Implementation-wise it should not be difficult, we just need to figure out what this UUID should be -- FQDN, ip address, MAC Address, HD UUID, or combination of all the above, as well as some way of migrating old rrd directories to the new UUID-based directories.
