Oh! It took me a while to figure out what you meant, but I think I got it: does gmond communicate with *itself* using multicast? I had assumed that each gmond would at least know its *own* host stats without having to rely on the network, so that possibility didn't occur to me. I figured I would first get one gmond running, make sure it works correctly, and then deal with network stuff. Is it in fact the case that gmond won't show its own host's stats unless it can read the network packets that it sent out? -- Cos ------------------------------------------------------------------------- This SF.Net email is sponsored by the Moblin Your Move Developer's challenge Build the coolest Linux based applications with Moblin SDK & win great prizes Grand prize is a trip for two to an Open Source event anywhere in the world http://moblin-contest.org/redirect.php?banner_id=100&url=/ _______________________________________________ Ganglia-general mailing list [email protected] https://lists.sourceforge.net/lists/listinfo/ganglia-general
