Dear All,
Here are some updates on the problem.
1) The rrd files gmetad was looking for were zero bytes. Sorry - I should
have spotted that before. I was looking in "nemo2" (deputy head node)
instead of "nemo", where there are some old versions of those files that
probably date back to the last time that machine took over as head node.
2) The zero-byte rrd files were all from custom metrics
3) When I deleted the zero-byte rrd files the error messages stopped being
produced
4) I restarted gmetad to see if that re-created the problem - it didn't.
However, Now I'm getting this error in /var/log/messages every few minutes:
/usr/sbin/gmetad[11186]: Got a malformed path request from 127.0.0.1
Otherwise everything is back to normal. I would still be interested to know
what caused this problem so I can prevent it from happening again.
Regards,
Dan Bretherton
