Hi, I've follow the sample on http://ganglia.wiki.sourceforge.net/ganglia_gmond_python_modules to write a ganglia python metric module. It works fine when I debug it on command line.
Then I setup the config mytest.pyconf and copy it to under /etc/ganglia/conf.d/, and copy the python script to under /usr/lib64/ganglia/python_modules/ as well. At last I fire up gmond again. It looks like that gmond set the custom metric(s) the first time -- but only the first time. The metric value dones't change afterwards until gmond restart. I've checked with 'gmond -m', it does show that my custom metric(s) are included, then I run 'gmond -d 10 -f' to see what is going on behind, and it shows several attempts to collect my custom metrics. But why the metric values do change at all? More info are available if help.
