Personally I'd ask the question differently. For example how often do you want to monitor each node? Are you looking for diagnostic level data, that is data sufficient to trouble-shoot problems rather than just report occasional numbers? If so you probably need to monitor every 10-15 seconds or so. The next question then becomes what do you want to do with the data, store it in rrd? And then how much data to you want to gather? There are literally hundreds of potential counters out there. If you want to monitor a lot and do it often, that's a whole different question. -mark
