Hi, I’m monitoring what is hopefully a fairly standard compute
configuration using Ganglia, and want to take the opportunity of a v3.1
upgrade to rationalise my configuration. I have about ~40,000 cores, in
~10 geographic sites. Currently I also have a bit of a mess of Gmetad’s
and WebFrontEnd's, being reported to by single Gmond's on each compute
node.
There are ~20 applications, hosted across multiple sites. Each application
will have compute resources in different sites. I’m ambivalent about
Gmond/Gmetad configurations, but I need to view data averaged by
application, not location. For example, in the configuration below, I need
to know CPU load across all of ApplicationA’s blades, but have no
requirement to see CPU Load across Location1.

Logically (perhaps) I should have a Gmetad in each location, but I’m then
having problems getting the data averaged by application on the central
WebFrontEnd. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
A few other points;
* I’m limited to Unicast
* I do not mind whether each individual Gmetad, is linked to a
WebFrontEnd, or not.
* It is also not a absolute requirement to retain the existing rrd data.
