Easiest thing to try is to comment out your 3.0.x data_source and see
if you are still seeing the issue.

I noticed that you're using apr 1.3.3 -- where did you get this from?
I know that Ganglia works with apr 1.2.8 under CentOS 4, but I haven't
tested it with anything newer.

You might also try stracing gmetad while it's running, to see if you
can figure out what it's doing.
