‎Thanks All,
Installed the rpm, deleted old rrds and changed path in the conf.php file.
Here is what I am getting in the httpd/error_log, as you can see, I am still
receiving errors. I am especially curious what the sh: /usr/bin: is a
directory error is...

I tried to compile rrdtool many times and couldn't get it to work,
either. I ended up download an rpm from epel or
http://dag.wieers.com/rpm/packages/rrdtool/ and it worked. It will
install to /usr/lib as standard library path, instead of /usr/local.
The RPM has an older version but it works.

Good luck.

Hi Karl,

please check your path to rrdtool binary in your conf.php

conf.php
...
# Leave this alone if rrdtool is installed in $gmetad_root,
# otherwise, change it if it is installed elsewhere (like /usr/bin)
define("RRDTOOL", "/usr/bin/rrdtool");
...

this error can happen when the path isn't correct.

greets ron

I have already checked the rrd dir's and the appropriate files seem to
be there. I downloaded rrdtools from the internet and installed from
source, while I installed php and php-gd as rpms from rhn.
