What you could do is copy the old data to another directory on the
server, for instance /var/lib/ganglia/rrds ->
/var/lib/ganglia/rrds.offline. Also, make a copy of the docroot
/var/www/html/ganglia -> /var/www/html/ganglia.offline.  Go into the
copied docroot and modify conf.php replacing $rrds to
"$gmetad_root/rrds.offline".

Then when you go to http://<server>/ganglia.offline, you will only be
shown the historic data. However, there are a few gotchas with this
approach:

1) The "offline" webfrontend instance will still be polling the live
gmetad and constructing live information regarding your cluster (eg.
current load)
2) Since the rrd files are no longer being updated, you may have a
hard time viewing the data via the graphs with the pre-set time scale
(last hour, day, week, etc.) so you might need to modify the code or
use the calendar plugin

Cheers,

Bernard
