I have two clusters that I monitor with Ganglia.
One cluster has two data_source lines in /etc/ganglia/gmetad.conf, and the
other cluster has just one data_source line:
data_source "alpha" n39.fqdn
data_source "beta" n26.fqdn:8653
data_source "remote" header.fqdn:8654
On the remote cluster I have 'gmond' installed on the head node and all
thirteen cluster nodes, and have "mute=yes" defined in
/etc/ganglia/gmond.conf on "remote" so that its statistics are not collected
and displayed.
The issue is in the display of the remote cluster: in the web front end; it
shows "13 hosts up" and "1 host down" and that "down" host is the remote
cluster's head node.
To see what I'm asking about, see <http://frame.cs.washington.edu/ganglia/>
- "R610mocap" is the remote cluster.
Is there a way to configure this so that the remote cluster's head node does
not appear in the up/down count on the web front end?
Thank you.
