Hello Ganglia team, The system/idle cpu metrics gets crazy on some of my ppc64 boxes. I was wondering if any of you have seen this already or have any idea of what could be going on? On a normal machine: # netcat normalmachine 9041 | grep cpu_idle <METRIC NAME="cpu_idle" VAL="99.9" TYPE="float" UNITS="%" TN="68" TMAX="90" DMAX="0" SLOPE="both"> # netcat normalmachine 9041 | grep cpu_system <METRIC NAME="cpu_system" VAL="0.0" TYPE="float" UNITS="%" TN="68" TMAX="90" DMAX="0" SLOPE="both"> On a crazy one: (**observation**: I'm currently logged in the machine and I see, from top, there's no cpu usage) # netcat crazymachine 9003 | grep cpu_system <METRIC NAME="cpu_system" VAL="98.2" TYPE="float" UNITS="%" TN="0" TMAX="90" DMAX="0" SLOPE="both"> # netcat crazymachine 9003 | grep cpu_idle <METRIC NAME="cpu_idle" VAL="29190.8" TYPE="float" UNITS="%" TN="0" TMAX="90" DMAX="0" SLOPE="both"> I'm guessing it has anything to do with parsing /proc/stat, since ganglia retrieve cpu info from it. I'm attaching a snapshot of /proc/stat from the crazymachine in case it helps. Any ideas? Thanks, --
