The authority URL is mostly used to locate the parent grid's URL when you've traversed into a child grid. In your situation, for Grid A, it doesn't really matter whether the authority is http://www.myganglia.com or http://ganglia-master.myganglia.com since they're pretty much the same thing. However, assuming you will be adding additional servers to your load balancer, you probably want to use the alias http://www.myganglia.com as the authority. For Grid B, since you have one host anyway, then the authority should be ganglia-master2.myganglia.com. Hope this helps. BTW I am curious how you are planning to setup load balancing with gmetad.
