I suppose it's fine.  I'm not particularly fond of the fact that there
needs to be a .gitmodules but I don't think there is a way around it
-- so don't mind me!

I haven't had a chance to look at it yet, but sounds like a good idea.
 What do other Python DSO metric module authors think?

BTW, I wonder if this is something that could be checked into our main
repository as part of the Python DSO code base -- perhaps an API.
Users can either use the API to write their module, or just write
normal Python code.
