For the most part, I would agree with Bernard -- set it up initially
using multicast as that should work right out of the box.

That said, I have converted my entire installation to use unicast.  We
had no end of problems getting multicast to work on our network and in
our initial testing managed to crash one of our edge switches
(Foundry).  If your networking team isn't on board it will probably be a
lot easier to run with unicast for the long run.
