Greetings everyone,

I am attempting to install ganglia 3.1.7 onto CentOS 5.5 to run alongside
Hadoop. I was to run 3.1.X to get support for python modules so that I can in
turn get email alerts from our cluster.

I have been downloading RPMs ad-nausea and still seem to be so very far away
from actually getting ganglia installed on the machines.

CentOS 5.5 is not set in stone. I don't mind formatting the cluster again if
it means that I can easily get everything running, I'm just hoping for an easy
fix here.

Here is the output I get when trying to install the ganglia-3.1.7 RPM:

[r...@hanode4 ~]# rpm -ivh
ftp://mylocalftp/ganglia-3.1.7/ganglia-3.1.7-2.fc15.x86_64.rpm
Retrieving ftp://mylocalftp/ganglia-3.1.7/ganglia-3.1.7-2.fc15.x86_64.rpm
error: Failed dependencies:
        rpmlib(FileDigests) <= 4.6.0-1 is needed by ganglia-3.1.7-2.fc15.x86_64
        rpmlib(PayloadIsXz) <= 5.2-1 is needed by ganglia-3.1.7-2.fc15.x86_64

This is a rabbit hole I can't afford to go down. GLIBC must be installed to
co-exist with the version that is already in here, and all sorts of crazy
things.

Any suggestions are welcome!
Thanks,
Stephen Tunney
