Hello,
I seem to have fixed my issue ( or at least have a workaround). I've
scheduled a daily restart of the gmond process. For a week now, I haven't
had any issues with missing data for my node. Before, the process would
still be there but no data was collected. by intentionally restarting the
gmond process, it collects all the time.
It's not a perfect solution, but it works for me. Thanks to all who helped.

Hi Richard:
Please try setting send_metadata_interval to a reasonable value in
gmond.conf as per the release notes and see if it helps:
