This module is neat, but it's never been a viable module to run in
production in any site I've worked at. I disable it when I detect it
with config management, but if it happens to slip through, cpu on the
host is driven way up with the excessive netstat calls.

Does anybody else notice this?

True story, I upgraded gmond on all the servers in a ~600 server
cluster ~3 years back because I was so keen on writing gmond python
modules. Two hours later, the datacenter started tripping brakers on
our racks. The cpu load of this module killed our datacenter and
caused major outages on our site. Admittedly, it was a crappy
datacenter, but the added cpu load was real.
