I'm using ganglia to submit data directly to a carbon server with use with
Graphite/Grafana. It works great, but I'm having issues understanding
granularity of the data. It seems like my data comes in at a rate equal to
the polling interval I set in the gmetad.conf's 'data_source' attribute.
The "collect_every" attribute seems to do absolutely nothing to influence
this rate. What am I missing?
Ideally, I'd like gmetad and/or gmond to collect at a rate much faster than
what is sent to the carbon server. Is this possible? For instance, can I
collect my data and cache it at say once every 2 seconds, but then only
send it every few minutes to the carbon server?
Thank you,
Brad H
