I'm an engineer with interests in computational intelligence, concurrent 
programming, simulation, complex adaptive systems, data mining, and 
knowledge management.  I began programming Fortran on punch cards while 
in high school in the 1960s, so I may be the fogey in this group.  Over 
the years I've used everything from  low level languages like C and 
Forth to high level ones like Lisp and APL.  I'm not making significant 
use of Lisp at work and the Gardeners project could remove some of the 
barriers to doing so.
