Hi JCR. I empathise with most everything you said, from delivery of executables to the presence of some not too convivial folks on c.l.l.
I believe this is THE goal of the gardener project to: - do and let say - iron out any angle in CL that might prevent a wider adoption - ignore the flames of the self purported expert (fortunately, Naggum-oh-the-Genius seems to have disappeared from c.l.l as of late :) I said in my very post that the task we were facing was not glamorous, that we needed a lot of humility to carry it through. I might add today that the only reward one can expect as a gardener is a personal one -- yes! I did what I said I would, and yes, there's one less road block on the way --, but not recognition, fame or honors :-) The main driving impetus, for me, is that the CL lbraries, even though spread-out, inconsistent, non portable, will slowly converge to a nice, consistent, and portED set, through *my* efforts and that of all other gardeners: I'm going to get back *much more* than what I'm putting in, by simple virtue of the fact that the load is distributed over every one of us. Oh ,,, and Happy Birthday :) -- JFB _______________________________________________ Gardeners mailing list [email protected] http://www.lispniks.com/mailman/listinfo/gardeners
