Back to the subject: Red Hat menus in Garnome. Well, after poking through specs, examples (few and far between, and not very well documented :-/), and email threads popped up by Google I managed to get a local setup which works well enough for me to understand that I don't think I can do this :-/... at least without a LOT of work.
The problem is that RH8 uses the "legacy" menu structure, which means to get it I need to use the <LegacyDir> method. However, this ONLY imports the .desktop elements themselves, it does not import the actual menu structure. I don't know of any way to import that structure from a legacy environment so I would need to reproduce it in the new environment if I wanted to get a Red Hat menu underneath the standard menu. Since the content is largely the same, I'm not sure this is the best way to go. I'll think about it overnight :-). -- ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Paul D.
