To remove a GARNOME installation:

        delete the install tree. 

GARNOME is *never* installed to overwrite the current desktop.  It is
always installed in a separate location like

        /opt/garnome
or 
        /usr/local/local/garnome

or
        /yourhomedirectory/garnome
