gdm-2.13.02 has been released. This release addresses the issues
reported to this list by users of debian-like systems.
It would be helpful to the maintainers of gdm if we could exercise the
new code.
Try the following:
* cd ./desktop/gdm
*edit the GAR Makefile
- change the GARVERSION:
2.13.0.1 -> 2.13.0.2
- change CONFIGURATION_ARGS
to try out shadow authentication
CONFIGURE_ARGS = $(DIRPATHS)
--enable-authentication-scheme=shadow
if '--enable-authentication-scheme' is not specified, the configuration
process will automatically select an authentication scheme for you
Choose a specific authentication scheme default=auto
--enable-authentication-scheme=auto/pam/crypt/shadow
* update the checksums
make makesum
* build
make > make.log 2>&1 &
* install
make install > make_install.log 2>&1 &
* try it out and report your findings to the list.
I have successfully built gcm-2.13.02 on a PPC running YDL-4.0.1+ [FC2+
clone] using both PAM and shadow authentication.
