I set my default language is canadian, thinking that that was how to
choose the Canadian spell checker in aspell, the original version of
which I contributed to Kevin. There is also the option "british".
I'm still confused about the relationship between the preferences
language choice and the Document language choice. Also note that
canadian is only in the latest version of babel.
