Are you suggesting that LyX should periodically check the date on the .agr files? That would mean that LyX might keep swapping in and out just to check to see if any graphics files had changed. It would be nice if an Update->Whatever would also cause a LyX graphics update, but I think that updating without an explicit user request would be just plain dumb.
