Dear Experimenters

In a note this morning I mentioned grinding charcoal in a blender and said it
made a very fine dust that could be used to make a "char dust torch".

My friend, Art Krenzel warns me that I should have said "explosive char dust",
since dust explosions are as nasty as gas explosions.

If you blow air through the blender making a continuous stream of combustible
gas, be sure to have a very small passagesuch as a torch nozzle through which
the mixture passes to the ignition point to act as a "flame arrestor".
Otherwise you could wind up with pieces of glass or plastic in your skin AND
destroy your wife's blender.
