Mark,

Agreed. I have no stamps. I was(am?) going to outsource that module. The
coverage was for $1,000,000. The only stipulation was that I can't parts for
transportation, ie. cars, planes, or boats.

Hi Steven,

They may cover it, but what is the limit of liability? $10,000,000 or $1,000?
It would seem that the exposure of the insurer would be pretty limited if you
had not actually put any units into service. Are you an R-Stamp welder with all
of your certifications in order? Home-built boilers even make my blood run cold!

Good Luck!
Mark

Toby,

Actually I did. I told the underwriter I was a sheetmetal shop building
boilers and gasifiers and they explicitly blessed it. I asked twice because I
didn't believe it. I can post the quote if you want to see it.

Now I just need to sell a boiler or a gasifier.......but that's another story.

Jim,

Your telling us that your general business insurance policy will cover your
product liability on the "gasifiers experimenters kit" or the "power pallet".
Right.... I don't believe you.

I've made complex machinery for too many years to believe that you can obtain
product liablity on experimental and unproven machinery. Been there on much
better developed equipment.

Write me off list (providing your PL underwriter) and I'll verify... then
gladly eat my words.

Phillip has a policy application (I believe he wants auto insurance)... but no
policy. He surely won't get it from Indiana Farm Bureau. How many people have
really, truthfully disclosed that they are adding a gasifier to their insurance
underwriter, where the undewriter had actual knowledge of the significant,
added apparatus and approved it?

Sincerely,

Toby
