Ran one of these for a bit back in 70's making fuel chips.
Good machine for what is going through it now.
Make certain you have the power so they do not stall out.
I was running 225 hp into the drive end. Stall it out and it's no fun!
They seem to have good power.
One thing they want to do is keep the sticks out of that gravel pile.
Rocks sticking to the " to be chipped material " will soon make you wish you
had eliminated that issue.
I did not keep the machine as I was doing fuel wood and whole tree.
For fuel you get so much out of the limbs and needles that it is not funny.
Gasification for power this is the machine.
Gasification for heat with the right unit chuck anything combustible at it.

After posting what seems a never ending series of photos of the gasifier
development programme at CalForests in California on the Fluidyne Archive,
I can finally show you a video of the Laimet chipper in action. The loader
is feeding mainly 40ft tops into the Laimet and even a 10" log will vanish

This video was supplied only a couple of days ago, but not taken by
myself, so will make a request of them for next time, to get in a little
closer to the action.
If you look closely down in the left hand corner, you can see the grey
squarish insulated casing of the hot water boiler, which is now operating
to heat the greenhouse you can see in the rear of the gasifier
installation. It has yet to have the flu stack added. I was sent all the
photos of the boiler operating and will write up the storey for posting
next week.
