Well, if you don't have the right insulator system, that is true, but with the 
right insulating design, it doesn't happen.  We have hundreds to thousands of 
hours operating time with perfectly intact insulating system at 35-50 kv in the 
acidic, conductive and potentially explosive environment, with the fact that a 
produced gas is not supposed to contain oxygen so it won't ignite, this is 
built into the control system as a back up. 


Of course, everyone thinks that the hanging wire "indirect charging" ESP is the 
design when it fact it it not and the charging density can be 50-200x greater 
in the design we use, which makes it much smaller for the same collecting 
effect. 


Keep pursuing the same obsolete designs and then don't cry about not have an 
economic system.

Sorry for slow response but have been a bit ill these last ten days.

The bad news is that ESP isn't going to work either with wet carbon 
soot. It shorts out all the anodes causing arcing and explosions. The 
European guys had several "incidents" so not sure they are even legal to 
use, other than for dry boiler fly ash, etc. I'm sure Bjorn has more to 
add, but save your $$ and time.
