Bug fix (actually feature request) for 1578142.
Allow unloading documents without sync'ing (by means of additional
unloadDocument methods that take a boolean sync parameter).
Old unloadDocument methods have been retreofitted to call the new method with
the sync parameter set to true (to preserve old functionality).
