We got our mammoth HD TV 4 years ago, when Dish had about 6 high def channels. Discovery HD was one of the channels, and I will never forget this one night when a bunch of people were visiting and Sunrise Earth happened to come on. Within 5 minutes, all conversation had stopped and everyone was staring at the TV, absolutely mesmerized by the picture. It was just too funny to see all these people STARING at the television when NOTHING WAS HAPPENING. LOL.
My favorite "first high def moment" was when I turned on ESPN and a Lakers game was on -- and I could clearly see Ashton Kucher and Jack Nicholson sitting in courtside seats on either side of the scorer's table. That was a pretty impressive picture! I still am amazed by the picture clarity -- like watching the Olympics' opening ceremony and so many of the events.
