La Tech joined the WAC in 2001. In response to the other question, "does the WAC have fans?" I should have clarified there are a lot of anti-BCS fans around here. Any non-BCS team that beats a BCS team is considered a great day to many fans around these parts. If that BCS team happens to be an SEC team, even better. Living in the Great Northwest, the sentiment is there is an east coast bias. Anyday an SEC team goes down is grounds for celebration.
