1. Defense is improved, but still against less than stellar offenses.  Better than our usual cupcakes, but still not SEC caliber.

2. Hadn't noticed this, good catch.  I like Wondy a lot, he has a great story and an infectious smile.

3.  Too late for a redshirt.  You play one play and your year of eligibility is used up.  The days of the medical redshirt are gone.

4.  True TT doesn't have as many plays designed for him to run.  The interesting thing about this was ABC kept showing the tally of how many times he was hit compared to last year.  He was essentially hit the same number of times in this game standing in the pocket as he was last year running for 1st downs.

5.  I think the normal coaching protocol in this situation would have been to try and get the 1st down to run out the clock, if you score a TD, at least you gave the D a chance to stop you.  Kicking the FG is nothing more than a kick in the teeth.  A kick in the teeth that is about 26 years too late and well deserved.  Shannon is acting like a dope saying how it shows our bad character.  What was he showing last week when he went for it on 4th and 3 late in the 4th quarter (from his 42) against Charleston Southern?

7.  I think Louis received a little bit of a Miami welcome in the scrum after the blocked punt.  I don't like smack talk and he probably has learned to keep quiet.

9.  wear all pink, just win.

1. I'm thrilled with our defense. Hawaii's 10 points came against our
scrubs. Our First Team has given up a total of 3 points in two games
against non-cupcakes. And those came on a 51-yard field goal; hardly
a gimme. Last year Ohio State led the NCAA giving up 12.6 points a
game, we are at 6.5.

2. Wondy may not start again. He was pulled pretty fast after a blown
coverage early in the game. Janoris Jenkins (true freshman) came in
and played the rest of the game. I suspect he is there to stay.

3. I would redshirt Demps. I don't deny his speed and talent, but we
already have two of those guys; James and Rainey (and, arguably,
Harvin). I don't see that we will run enough of plays where it makes
sense to burn Demps' redshirt.

4. Despite claims to the contrary, we are definitely using TT less in
running situations. Against UM, we had a 2nd and 1 on about the 6.
2nd down was an incomplete pass, and 3rd was a hand-off to Moore.
Neither picked up the 1st Down. At any point over the last two years,
it would have been TT left, TT right, TT up the middle.

5. RUTS. There was 1:04 left on the clock after the 3rd Down run
(which lost 4 yards). Would it have been less sportsmanlike to go for
the first down (and possibly score a TD)? Less sportsmanlike to punt
from the 11? Should we have taken a delay of game penalty, and then
when forced to hike the ball with 24 seconds left, flopped down on
the field? Heck, I like that last option a lot.

6. RUTS II: The reason that that the 3rd down play lost yards was
that every Miami defender was between the tackles. It seems a little
hypocritical for a defense to stack the box, and then complain that
the offense didn't run the ball up the middle to run out the clock.

7. Louis Murphy should have made the "U" symbol with his hands when
he scored his second touchdown (even if it was called back).
Seriously, if this was the worst smack talk that any player on either
team stated, then it is a sad state of affairs. That was about the
mildest criticism ever leveled. Every single University in the
country has the initial "U." To think that your school is unique
because it has the initial "U" is about as moronic as Ohio State
getting excited that it uses the word "the" in its name. I suspect
that UM emphasizes the "U" because 1. it is not located in Miami, and
2. there is already a school in a town in Ohio named Miami that is
older than UM, has more students than UM, and could probably beat
them in a game. Now that's real smack.

8. Speaking of Ohio State, was I the only person that noticed that
its commercial featured fans spelling out the word "Ohio" during a
game where its team was playing the University of Ohio? That would be
like our fans spelling out "Georgia" while playing the mangy mutts.
That's pretty imbecilic as well.

9. I still don't like it when we wear all-blue.
