The big danger is in using Facebook to meet new people. I got started with it to keep up with my children that are in college. I only accept friends that I either know or recognize them such as the folks from Gatornet. If I don't know someone, then I either question them as to where we know each other from or do not confirm them as a friend. I also avoid the "phishing" or "adware, malware" type of programs. I have my spyware and adware programs and detectors up to date to enable me to recognize such program.
