I remember that. Poor ol' Bo couldn't handle getting hit. I remember a Gator player after one victory over Auburn ridiculing Bo, saying he doesn't know how to play with pain.
I think this was after we beat them in 1985. IIRC, he came back for his senior year, but kept taking himself out of the game anytime it got too rough for him. Also IIRC, Auburn was 1 - 3 against us during the years he played. The only time they won was in 1983, after Pat Dye made up a story that Florida students were wearing tee shirts saying "at least we don't kill our football players," a reference to an Auburn player who died during an August workout. No one could produce a speck of evidence that the shirt even existed, but the media mindlessly reported Dye's comments as if they had to be true. We were blasted in the press all that week, and it was total BS. Pat Dye was a sleazeball. Go Gators!!!! Ken B. Does this remind any old-timers of when Bo Jackson kept taking himself out of the game because Wilber Marshall kept hitting him too hard? -Zeb --~--~---------~--~----~------------~-------~--~----~ GATORS: ONE VOICE ON SATURDAY - NO VOICE ON SUNDAY! 1996 National Football Champions | 2006 National Basketball Champions 2006 National Football Champions | 2007 National Basketball Champions Three Heisman Trophy winners: Steve Spurrier (1966), Danny Wuerffel (1996), Tim Tebow (2007) - Visit our website at www.gatornet.us -~----------~----~----~----~------~----~------~--~---
