Alabama, Florida could clinch title game spots

The Associated Press

Published: Tuesday, November 4, 2008 at 6:01 a.m.

Georgia coach Mark Richt says his No. 14 Bulldogs won't give up their hopes
for winning the SEC championship until they are mathematically eliminated.

That could come this weekend.

If Florida beats Vanderbilt and Alabama beats LSU this weekend, the Gators
and Crimson Tide could clinch the two spots in the SEC championship game in
Atlanta. It would mark the earliest point in the season the pairings for the
conference championship game had been final.

Georgia will play at Kentucky on Saturday.
