You have reassured me a little bit. I guess I'm more concerned with them
"sneaking up on us" like Ole Miss did, but I'm sure the coaches won't let that
happen.

They don't match up well against us in any phase of the game. Even with the
injuries on the DL, we will be going against a weak SOW OL.

Will they be jacked? Absolutely. Will they win? No way. This Gator team
is too mentally tough to have a let down with the prize in sight. And if any
of the WRs involved in the fight are suspended, it will be over early.

Some people are saying this sets up like 1997 (Go Quez!), but I don't see it.
Yes the SOW was a top tier team that year, but the Gators were nowhere near as
bad as SOW is this year.

Some people are saying the SOW is playing their best ball of the year - they
are 2-2 in their last 4 games. Hmmm, what have the Gators done in their past
7???

Don't worry, we win, cover the spread and move up to #3 in the BCS this week.

Ok, now I'm getting worried... again... Last year, I looked forward to this
weekend with glee, knowing that we were going spank the little savages and send
them home crying. This year, I'm not at all confident we'll spank them nor do I
think we'll make them cry. They have played the spoiler before and it would be
just like them to do it again.

Notebook: Meyer veteran of UF-Florida State rivalry

Three games into the Florida-Florida State rivalry is more than enough
time for UF coach Urban Meyer to understand the hatred associated with it.
“It’s nasty,” Meyer said Monday. “This is an ugly one.
His team is so amped for Saturday’s game in Tallahassee that Meyer
admitted after The Citadel game that some of the veterans on his team had
already turned their focus to the Seminoles by halftime.
Both UF and FSU rank first in their respective conferences in total
offense and the Seminoles are second in the ACC in total defense, while the
Gators sit at third in the SEC.
Meyer said he is expecting to get the best out of FSU’s defense and
doesn’t see much of a change from its game plan from years past.
“It’s FSU defense,” he said. “Schematically, they’re very similar to what
they’ve been in the past. Talent-wise they’ve been very similar and you watch
them and that’s who they are. Very well coached and they’re a hardnosed, tough
outfit that runs well.”
      Two-minute drill
With the recent blowouts by the Gators, Meyer said he was so concerned
about his team being unaccustomed to having to make any sort of crucial drive
late in a game that he had a “heart-to-heart” with his players about such
situations.
Meyer will now end each practice with 15-20 minutes devoted to running a
no-huddle, two-minute offense.
“Every Tuesday and Wednesday we’re going to finish practice with a real
game situation,” Meyer said.
      Honors
Junior quarterback Tim Tebow will attend The Home Depot ESPNU College
Football Awards as one of three finalists for the Maxwell Award. The winner
will be revealed Dec. 11, at 7:30 p.m. on ESPN in Lake Buena Vista at the Walt
Disney World Resort in the Atlantic Dance Hall.
Tebow won the Maxwell Award last season and looks to become the second
player to win the award twice. John Lattner won the award in back-to-back years
playing for Notre Dame in 1952 and ’53.
Tebow ranks first in the Southeastern Conference in passing efficiency
with a rating of 175.2, good for fifth in the nation. He has thrown for 2,114
yards and 22 touchdowns with only two interceptions. He has also rushed for 427
yards and 11 touchdowns.
Redshirt freshman running back Chris Rainey was named the SEC Freshman
Player of the Week, the league announced Monday.
Rainey had a career-best 142 rushing yards on seven carries and one
touchdown against The Citadel. He had arguably the best play not go for a
touchdown when he ran 73 yards after cutting right across the entire field
after taking the carry to the left sideline.
Rainey now leads UF in rushing yards this season with 557 yards off 74
carries and has four touchdowns
