That's the way I remember it, too, but I'm older than all of you, so don't put money on MY memory. :) Randy ----- Original Message ----- From: Jerry Belloit <mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]> To: [email protected] Sent: Tuesday, December 09, 2008 11:57 PM Subject: [gatortalk] Re: Now that its official, I cant resist... Cee, My memory is the same as Wanda's. (Sorry Wanda, we may both be slipping!) As I recall, Stoops tuned Florida down when SOS resigned. He did it again when Zook was invited to pursue other coaching opportunities. Totally agree, Wanda... except I don't recall him turning down the head coach job twice. ?? Ummmmm...I'm not understanding how it could be "VERY difficult" to root against Stoops when, first and foremost, he's playing the Gators for a MNC, and secondly, he's dissed the head coaching job at UF TWICE!!! I still have a soft spot for him as he did play a major part in our very first MNC, but I really have no problem rooting against Stoopsie in this game!!! Well. its gonna be VERY difficult for me to root against Stoopsie. _____ From: [email protected] [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] On Behalf Of Gatornet Admin Sent: Sunday, December 07, 2008 9:02 PM To: [email protected] Subject: [gatortalk] Re: Now that its official, I cant resist... I was hoping for a Texas vs UF matchup, but that went out the window when Okie won last night. I would love to see Tebow vs McCoy, but I just can't quite see Bradford as a champion yet. Unfortunately I gotta disagree with you there Badman. Okie deserves to be ranked higher... and Im not just saying that because I picked Boomer Sooner to go all the way (and I still think they can).... their only loss... was to the team that was ranked 5th in the country at the time. They have been blowing people outta the water ever since. Now I have a soft spot in my heart for Okie because well.. Stoops is there.. and I still sorta kinda have a place in my heart that wishes he hadnt said no to UF. I dont have any regrets that we ended up with Meyer later... I just hate that he said no... which would normally make me have bad feelings about him... but I cant.. he's happy where he is. ANYWAY... Okie deserves to be ranked higher. And they still have a shot at the NC if they can get past TexTech, OkSt annnnd.. dont forget they also have a Conference game too... which will probably be Mizzou Im guessing. Of course TexTech and OkSt have to faulter... but I still think Okie will take the Big12. Personally... I would LOVE a UF vs Okie matchup. <BR <BR<BR <BR --~--~---------~--~----~------------~-------~--~----~ GATORS: ONE VOICE ON SATURDAY - NO VOICE ON SUNDAY! 1996 National Football Champions | 2006 National Basketball Champions 2006 National Football Champions | 2007 National Basketball Champions Three Heisman Trophy winners: Steve Spurrier (1966), Danny Wuerffel (1996), Tim Tebow (2007) - Visit our website at www.gatornet.us -~----------~----~----~----~------~----~------~--~---
