I had the 45 for "Brand New Key" when I was a baby Gator. I ran into Melanie playing a concert on the mall with Billy Preston in the mid-80s. The concert was free, and poorly attended, so we sat on the grass about 10 feet from the stage. She played "Lay Down" as well as "The Nickel Song" and "Look What They've Done to my Song, Ma" (and, of course, "Brand New Key"). I think that the bigger hit version of "Look What They've Done to my Song, Ma" was by the New Seekers, but it was written and recorded first by Melanie. Speaking of the Edwin Hawkins Singers, don't forget to play "Oh, Happy Day" in honor of the Gators' national championship! -Zeb --~--~---------~--~----~------------~-------~--~----~ GATORS: ONE VOICE ON SATURDAY - NO VOICE ON SUNDAY! 1996 National Football Champions | 2006 National Basketball Champions 2006 National Football Champions | 2007 National Basketball Champions 2008 National Football Champions | Three Heisman Trophy winners: Steve Spurrier (1966), Danny Wuerffel (1996), Tim Tebow (2007) - Visit our website at www.gatornet.us -~----------~----~----~----~------~----~------~--~---
