I believe it was first bottled in Vicksburg, MS. But, you were close.

    1894 . A modest start for a bold idea
In a candy store in Vicksburg, Mississippi, brisk sales of the new fountain
beverage called Coca-Cola impressed the store's owner, Joseph A. Biedenharn. He
began bottling Coca-Cola to sell, using a common glass bottle called a
Hutchinson.

Biedenharn sent a case to Asa Griggs Candler, who owned the Company.
Candler thanked him but took no action. One of his nephews already had urged
that Coca-Cola be bottled, but Candler focused on fountain sales.

1899 . The first bottling agreement
Two young attorneys from Chattanooga, Tennessee believed they could build a
business around bottling Coca-Cola. In a meeting with Candler, Benjamin F.
Thomas and Joseph B. Whitehead obtained exclusive rights to bottle Coca-Cola
across most of the United States (specifically excluding Vicksburg) -- for the
sum of one dollar. A third Chattanooga lawyer, John T. Lupton, soon joined
their venture.

I'm a gator and Pepsi is the official soft drink of the University of
Florida, therefore, I drink Pepsi.

Sounded good, but I drink Pepsi because I've just always drank it. To me,
it's just not as "syrupy" as coke. Besides that, I'm a "bi-drinker". If I'm in
a restaurant that only offers coke, I drink it and have no problem with it.

FWIW, coke rules here in Chattanooga. Something about it being the location
of the first bottling plant or something.

As a native Atlantan, I'm just not allowed to say anything good about
Pepsi. ;-)

Everybody knows that Coke is the Real Thing.

I thought it was probably a new Gatorade drink or something.. .didnt
think it would be a total name change altogether.

This is what happens when Pepsi gets involved.. they screw everything
up.

Soooooooooo glad Im a diet coke man.
