FSU will begin 2009 season against Hurricanes in Miami

TALLAHASSEE Fla. — Florida State has often seen a successful season end against longtime archrival Miami.

This year the Seminoles begin their 2009 season with a home game against the Hurricanes on Labor Day night, Sept. 7.

The school announced its schedule Thursday, highlighted by home games with Miami, South Florida, Georgia Tech, North Carolina State, Maryland and Jacksonville (Ala.) State. The Seminoles travel to Brigham Young, Boston College, North Carolina, Clemson, Wake Forest and Florida.

Florida State, which finished the 2008 season with a 9-4 record, plays three home games in September, two in October and one in November.

The Seminoles have an open date Oct. 17 and visit North Carolina for a Thursday night game, Oct. 22.
